NRC Information Notice 94-42, "Cracking in the Lower Region of the Core  
Shroud in Boiling-Water Reactors," will be issued June 7, 1994.          
                                                                         
The NRC is issuing this information notice to alert addressees that a    
360-degree crack has been observed at a weld in the lower region of the

Discussion:

On June 6, 1994, the licensee announced that, effective immediately,     
Robert Querio will be returning from his temporary assignment with INPO  
to become the new Site Vice President at LaSalle Station. Mr. Murphy, the
former Site Vice President, will be leaving the company.                 
                                                                         
Mr. Querio was the Division Director for the Plant Performance Division  
at INPO and had responsibility for the Special Projects Division and the 
Advanced Light Water Reactor Project. Prior to going to INPO, he held the
position of Nuclear Oversight Manager, Braidwood Station Manager, Byron  
Station Manger, and Quad Cities Technical Staff Supervisor.
