The truck was stolen from a local motel located in London, Kentucky, and contained two radioactive devices. The devices were identified by the licensee as: (1) a Gamma Industries, Model 1 pipeliner (SN 253) containing 9 curies of iridium-192; and (2) a Tech Ops, Model 660 (SN 253) containing 15 curies of iridium-192. The stolen truck was described as a black, 4 wheel drive, 1988 Chevolet pick-up with peeling paint, and a white, dark room type camper bed. The truck did not contain any placcards on the outside. The truck was reportedly locked; however, the device keys were stored inside the darkroom. The Local and State police have been notified. The Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources had issued an announcement concerning the stolen truck and devices. This information is current as of 08:00 a.m., May 10, 1994. Contact: R.L. Museler, Watts Bar Site Vice President, will be promoted to a vice president position reporting directly to Mr. J. Dickey, TVA's Chief Operating Officer. Mr. D. Nunn, Vice President of Nuclear Projects, will take over Mr. Museler's Watts Bar responsibilities and will continue to exercise overall responsibility for completion of construction of the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. Mr. J. Scalice remains as the Vice President for operations at Watts Bar and is responsible for preoperational testing. In addition, the following personnel assignments have been made at Watts Bar: B. Schofield was assigned to Watts Bar Site Licensing Manager; he was previously at Corporate Licensing. G. Pannell was assigned to assist R. Baron, Nuclear Assurance & Licensing; he was previously the Watts Bar Site Licensing Manager. R. Daly, the Startup Test Manager, will act as a consultant following a temporary absence for personal (medical) reasons.
