Brave New World: Media Resources

Informative News coverage is critical to keeping in touch with the world we live in. The mainstream media has given up any pretense after 9/11 of covering news. They clearly stand for a propaganda vehicle for corporate agendas. A recent investigative poll on political affiliations of major media personalities and editors disclosed that nearly 70% were republicans. The claim that the U.S. mainstream media has a liberal bias is a strawman erected by conservative forces whose sole agenda is to move the country towards a right wing agenda.

The internet has made it possible for progressives to take a closer look at the news and issues here and abroad. The movement towards more sophisticated resources continues to be an important near term vision.

Americans today have been bombarded with so much information that most have a huge Attention Deficit Disorder. TV and print journalism has taken advantage of the public's overwhelm, pushing the shift towards smaller soundbytes and the reframing of issues that leave the general public at the mercy of talking heads. Alternatives to the labotomization of American society is what this page is all about.
