Nuclear Waste Resources

The big issue in the U.S. is Yucca Mt. But there are dozens of other hot spots in the U.S. and abroad in Germany, UK, Taiwan and Scotland.

The U.S. plan to dump deadly High Level Nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain Nevada is the most important nuclear issue of the new century. Pro-nuclear strategists and their allies have ganged up on Nevada in attempt to free the industry of its most vexing problem, 77,000 tons of long lived high level nuclear waste stored at commerical reactor sites across the country.

The vast majority of Nevada's citizens are aogainst the plan. Pro-nuclear lobbyists have spent nearly $20 million dollars in 2002 to push the dump through congress. Yet, Nevada has immense legal powers at its disposal that they plan to use to tie up the dump for years in court.

The national media has refused to put this issue in the national spotlight as one of the most important issues in years.
